Zealous Benediction is by far the best way for a monk to handle a toucher, and have a skill that has a pretty darn good use if you don't face a toucher.
If you're a Mo/Me (like many RA monks), you can always carry Ethereal/Kitah's Burden to run away from the toucher (or anyone else you need to kite). Even at 0 Illusion, you can easily escape in those 10 seconds, giving your team more than enough time to take the toucher down.

Return (and maybe Dark Escape) >>> Ethereal Burden
As for ZB, I just assumed he was running that already, like any intelligent RA monk would. If not, try ZB.

Ah the subject of touchers. I have a toucher and they can be quite anoying I will admit that. Until someone can come up with a suitable counter or A-Net brings on the "nerf laser" there will be touchers everywhere. Players found a build that works, unfortunatly too well. I have been on the receiving end of a toucher also and it is rather frustrating when you are hitting them for all that you got and pretty much killing yourself. Lets all try to find something that will stop them and pass that nw build around.

Arcane Thievery destroys touchers. they only carry one spell and will crumble horribly without it. also just throw on a cripple and run. you obviously will never be able to counter them as heal/prot monk, thats not what monks are for, thats what mesmers are for.

Let me tell you a story, in the same style as the original post:
We were in HA and there was lots of touchers chasing our monk, so he ran away and called out for Mr Warrior. Mr Warrior came over to the touchers and he did crippling slash, sever, gash, final while the mesmer cast spells on the same guy and the touchers had no monk and they died.
We was really happy cause we won more fame The End.

Gimping your own build in favour of a direct counter turns the game into Rock, paper, scissors. Dont change your skill bar for a direct counter ever.

Why? That build was fun to play and it weeded out all the bad teams (and some other teams too). Honestly if Anet thought touchers were overpowered they'd be nerfed by now.
(btw, I was Demonic Touch N Go in Apples screen)

Kiting is when you run away from them. I realize they have an almost constant speed boost, but running reduced the amount of life steal they can lay on you.

Please stop pvping.

Also I think that people that play touchies are the people that haven't played the game for too long. Am I right on this? Why do people play touchie's? There are so many better builds out there. Why hasn't Anet lit it up with the nerf laser yet?
|
Like I said, kiting. Most monks nowadays bring return, which not only gets you away from enemies, but cripples them as well.
Anet will never nerf touch rangers, for the same reason HA will always suck. Anet doesn't care about pvp.

The game design dictates that there will always be something that will beat you.
If you change your build to counter one thing, you are guaranteed to be beaten by something else. Playing a monk does not make you invincible.
Stop calling for nerfs just because you don't like something. Instead, find a way to beat them.
Anet knows that touch rangers aren't that good. They are limited to what punishment they can take and eventually will run out of energy before a good healing monk.
Try P&H to increase your regen and divine spirit while you fill up again or bring a snare.
A touch ranger that can't get adjacent to you is as good as dead. So too is one with heavy degen. They rely on touching as a means to heal up.
I've not seen a single one in RA today, except for myself when i was between test builds. Did i kill anyone? Nope.

Dont listen to the dude above, he just mentioned Peace and Harmony which reduces his credibility to near 0.
[skill]Zealous Benediction[/skill] and [skill]Return[/skill] are the way to go. Combined, they pwn touchers, and are pretty handy vs all melee classes too.
